Towards a more sustainable and inclusive world

Leveraging the power of tens of millions of customers, we as an insurer are well positioned to play a significant role in advancing the transition towards a more sustainable and inclusive world.

An aspiring ambition

That is why Ageas has set itself an ambitious sustainability target for products and services under its current strategy Elevate27. By 2027, the company aims for 35% of Gross Written Premiums (GWP) to originate from offerings that encourage customers to transition to a more sustainable and inclusive world. This goal represents a substantial advancement over prior strategies and underscores Ageas’s strengthened commitment to sustainability.

Our approach

Ageas takes a comprehensive approach, integrating sustainability into every business line, product type and the entire product life cycle.

Products and services are designed to help address environmental and societal issues, encouraging customers to make responsible choices

The offerings are categorised under the following themes with inclusion present in each: green mobility, sustainable housing, wellbeing, and savings. These categories address topics such as climate change, energy transition, ageing, health and mental health.

Ageas has developed a central list of sustainability criteria for Life, Non-Life, and Health products. This list guides Ageas in assessing whether an insurance product is sustainable or includes sustainable features and to what extent it contributes to the calculation of the KPI.

Ageas aligns its product definitions and reporting with European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the EU taxonomy regulation, ensuring robust governance and transparency

Delivering on our promises

In the first year of Elevate27 34 % of Gross Written Premium (GWP) was generated from products designed to promote the transition towards a more sustainability and inclusive world, which is almost in line with the target of +35 % set for the end of 2027.

We remain committed to continuous improvement. This significant progress serves as further motivation to excel through Elevate27 and beyond, aiming to help build a more sustainable and inclusive world for all.
