There’s only one way up from Gold and that’s to go Platinum! And that’s what AG achieved in 2024 as the recipient of the EcoVadis Platinum label. In doing so, AG propelled itself into the top 1% of the most sustainable companies in the world for the first time, meaning AG is having quite some impact in creating a better world.
The EcoVadis Platinum label is much coveted. As one of the world’s leading providers of business sustainability assessments, EcoVadis assesses more than 130,000 companies on 21 criteria spanning four key themes: the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable purchasing policies.
This step up from Gold in 2023 to Platinum in 2024 reflected a number of initiatives, including 42 ‘Towards Sustainability’ labels for various savings and investment products offered by AG. And while AG is consistently recognised each year for their products, the criteria for these labels become tougher every year. Other highlighted initiatives were in the field of electric mobility in collaboration with partners Touring, Optimile and SoSimply, and the launch of the MyMind preventive service that allows employees to strengthen their mental health.
AG’s ambitions as a member of the ‘Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance,’ an initiative of institutional investors committed to reducing net greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2050, are also bearing fruit. AG also stepped up its efforts with its suppliers, through the introduction of a code of conduct and an ESG questionnaire. Finally, the recognition of HR initiatives like the “AG DEI week”, which EcoVadis did not previously consider in its assessment, has also contributed towards achieving the platinum label. The challenge now will be to maintain this level of excellence and constantly look to do even better.
