10/12/2010- This is the first time this new award has been given. The award winner was selected by asking the leading insurer and broker Chief Execs to choose the peer they admired the most for their leadership achievements over the past 12-18 months.  Insurance Times also commissioned YouGov, an independent research company, to coordinate the voting and to compile the results.    In the words of the Insurance Times' Publishing Director, Shân Millie :   "Leadership always counts, but in introducing this new Award, Insurance Times was fully aware that coming out of a very difficult 2009, finding the inspirational insurer leader of 2010 was making a big statement. We wanted the leading insurer CEOs to choose their own 'first amongst equals' and this is what they have done via a specially-designed survey mechanism managed for us by respected polling organisation YouGov. The winner can be justly proud of being chosen by their peers to exemplify the leadership qualities needed in today's hugely competitive UK GI market."
